Hannibal (247-183 BC) was a Human general from the African city of Carthage. He was renowned for crossing the Alps and invading ancient Italy.
Trelane claimed in 2267, that battle flags and pennants modeled after Hannibal's were among those in his possession. (TOS: "The Squire of Gothos")

Hannibal appeared in the comic book No Time Like the Past, where Kirk, Spock and McCoy travel back in time using the Guardian of Forever to prevent a criminal from assassinating Hannibal.
