An activated harmonic interface
The harmonic interface was a device that allowed Commander Paul Stamets to link his neurons to the mycelial network, so as to operate the spore drive on USS Discovery.
In 2257, Stamets modified the interface in an effort to link a multidimensional fungal parasite to Ensign Sylvia Tilly's central nervous system, allowing it to speak through Tilly's mouth. However, the link required a cortical implant to function. (DIS: "An Obol for Charon")
