Keats worked as hair stylist and hairdresser on several movies during the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.
Among his productions in the late 1940s were The Untamed Breed (1948), Blondie's Big Deal, 'The Walking Hills and Horsemen of the Sierras (1949).
He continued in the first part of the 1950s with Lady in the Iron Mask and Park Row (1952), The Miami Story and The Law vs. Billy the Kid (1954), The Long Gray Line, Duel on the Mississippi (with Celia Lovsky) and The Man with the Golden Arm (1955). In the later part of the decade he worked on The Houston Story (1956), Escape from San Quentin (1957), Crash Landing (with Celia Lovsky) and Life Begins at 17 (1958) and The Tingler (1959).
In 1960 he worked on 13 Ghosts, his final credit before Star Trek.
