In 2268 on Sigma Iotia II, operatives of Jojo Krako who detained James T. Kirk told him that the car they drove him away in could be "either a taxi or a hearse". This implied that a lack of cooperation on his part would lead to his death. (TOS: "A Piece of the Action")
