Background information[]
- The stardate of this story sets it early in the second season, but a timeline published by DC Comics, changes the stardate of the story to 41199.3 so as to account for the appearance of Natasha Yar and the changes with the previous issues. This story is set between "Encounter at Farpoint" and "The Naked Now".
- Bele was miscolored with Lokai's complexion in this issue. He was also much taller than when played by actor Frank Gorshin. (TOS: "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield")
