A Gelrakian honor crystal
An honor crystal was a crystal that held cultural significance to the Gelrakians of Gelrak V.
The Gelrakians gave an honor crystal to the Starfleet team that made first contact with Gelrak V. When the USS Cerritos went to make second contact in 2380, Gelrakian protocol called for the away team again produce the honor crystal. As a result of exhaustion, Ensign Vendome accidentally packed and displayed a Mavok Prime fertility totem, leading to brief hostilities with the Gelrakians. After peace was restored, a team from the Cerritos displayed the honor crystal correctly. (LD: "Temporal Edict")
