A hover speeder was a type of hovering speeder designed to drive at high velocities, and thus was especially useful to law enforcement officers in pursuit of criminals.
A Xindi-Reptilian security team at the Denaxi Depot used hover speeders to pursue the crew of the USS Protostar, who were escaping in a hover skiff.
The Protostar crew would have been caught had Jankom Pog not used chlorine trifluoride to boost the skiff's propulsion system. (PRO: "Crossroads")
