Ian Abercrombie (11 September 193426 January 2012; age 77) was a British actor who played the Abbot in the Star Trek: Voyager fifth season episode "Someone to Watch Over Me" and Milo in the sixth season episode "Spirit Folk". He also did an ADR voiceover for Jeremy Kemp (Robert Picard) in the Star Trek: The Next Generation fourth season episode "Family".

Abercrombie had many roles in both film and television, but was probably best known as Mr. Pitt in Seinfeld, which co-starred Jason Alexander.

He played butler Alfred Pennyworth in the series Birds of Prey with Dina Meyer as Barbara Gordon and Bruce Thomas as Batman, and played the Wise Man in Army of Darkness (1992). Other films in which he appeared include Sole Survivor (1970, with William Shatner, Lou Antonio, and John Winston), S.O.S. Titanic (1979, with Maurice Roëves), Blood Beach (1981, with Stefan Gierasch, Marianna Hill, and Bobby Bass), and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997, with Geno Silva, Katy Boyer, Marjean Holden, Jacqueline Schultz, and J. Patrick McCormack). In 1989, he appeared in an episode of Tales from the Crypt, with J. Patrick McNamara and Roy Brocksmith. His voice acting credits included Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Ganthet in Green Lantern: The Animated Series.

Abercrombie died in Hollywood on 26 January 2012. He was 77. [1]
