Iced tea

Iced tea in a pitcher

Iced tea was a variety of Earth tea that had been chilled after steeping, rather than the more usual practice of serving the tea hot. Any flavor of tea could be served with ice cubes.

Both Captain Jonathan Archer and Commander Trip Tucker were fond of iced tea, garnished with lemon, during almost every meal they shared in the captain's dining room onboard Enterprise NX-01. (ENT: "Fight or Flight", "Terra Nova", et al.) One such meal was when they and Sub-Commander T'Pol hosted Vulcan Captain Vanik with a dinner aboard the ship in 2151. A pitcher of iced tea was on the table in the room. Meanwhile, Archer and Tucker each had a glass of iced tea, whereas T'Pol and Vanik had a glass of water each. After Archer refilled his own glass with tea from the pitcher, he offered some to Vanik, who declined, saying he only ever drank water, so Archer placed the pitcher back on the table. (ENT: "Breaking the Ice")

In the final version of "Breaking the Ice", this drink is only referred to as "tea". However, the episode's script identified it as iced tea.

When Tucker was trying to create a better command chair for Archer, he exasperatedly said he didn't care what color the headrest was or whether it could serve him iced tea. (ENT: "Singularity")

While aboard Enterprise NX-01, Vulcan Ambassador V'Lar was introduced to iced tea, a variety flavored with passion fruit. She inquired to T'Pol if she had ever tried it and she said that she did not care for it. V'Lar noted that Captain Archer certainly liked it. (ENT: "Fallen Hero")

While taking shore leave on Risa in 2152, Jonathan Archer drank a glass of iced tea on the balcony of a villa he was staying in. At one point, he realized the glass was empty, so he went inside to refill it from a jug of iced tea, but the noise of pet dogs Porthos and Rhylo barking on the balcony distracted him. (ENT: "Two Days and Two Nights")

This drink isn't identified on screen, though it was referred to as iced tea in the final draft script of "Two Days and Two Nights".

Iced tea was available from the drink dispenser in the mess hall of Enterprise. (ENT: "Breaking the Ice", "Fortunate Son", "Regeneration", "Terra Prime")
