The Iconia system was a formerly inhabited planetary system in the Beta Quadrant. This system was located in the Federation-Romulan border.

This was a single star system with a red primary.

In this system, there was the planet Iconia, which was the homeworld of the Iconians.

History[]

Approximately two hundred thousand years before 2365, this system was invaded by a attacking force which devastated Iconia with orbital bombardment. (TNG: "Contagion")

In 2257, during the first Federation-Klingon War, Iconia was occupied by the Klingons. (DIS: "The War Without, The War Within")

Stellar cartography[]

In 2256, this system's location was labeled on the star chart "Alpha/Beta Quadrant Overview" in the ready room aboard the USS Discovery. Although it was in Klingon space, it was not claimed by the Klingon Empire. (DIS: "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad")

In 2259, the location of this system was labeled on a stellar cartography chart that was seen on the USS Enterprise's ready room viewscreen. This system's symbol had a white color, indicating that it a non-aligned system. (SNW: "Strange New Worlds", "Spock Amok")

In 2324, the location of this system was labeled in a chart used during a Section 31 Alpha Team briefing. (Star Trek: Section 31)

In the episode "Strange New Worlds", the system's symbol had a green color, indicating that it had an affiliation with the Romulan Star Empire.
The name of this system came from the source material used, the Star Trek: Star Charts and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library, to create the star charts seen in Star Trek: Discovery.
The primary of the Iconia system was classified as a M-class star by the Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 63) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385").
