The location of the Bajoran wormhole terminus in the Gamma Quadrant
Idran (FGC-1215) was the primary supergiant of the Idran system. This star, and its two spectral class O-type companions formed a trinary system, located 4.7234 light years away from the terminus of the Bajoran wormhole in the Gamma Quadrant. There were no M-class planets in the Idran system. (DS9: "Emissary")
This star was discovered in the 22nd century by the Quadros-1 probe. Its analysis of the star would later be used as the basis of identification by the computer aboard the USS Rio Grande in 2369. (DS9: "Emissary")
During a trip into the Gamma Quadrant later that year, Doctor Julian Bashir pointed out Idran to Kai Opaka. (DS9: "Battle Lines")
According to the script for "Emissary", the pronunciation for Idran was "IH-drahn". [1]
The Idran Star Cluster appeared in the star chart Data and Picard were studying in stellar cartography in Star Trek Generations. Based on the name, this star cluster might include the star Idran.
According to Star Trek: Star Charts (pp. 12, 74), the Idran system was classified as a binary star system. The primary was a F-type star, and the secondary was an O-type star.
