Ikhu Zhen

The Ikhu Zhen was an amulet worn by adult male Kwejian, who were expected to never take it off. However, it was not to be worn by cowards. (DIS: "Kobayashi Maru", "Stormy Weather")

Receiving the Ikhu Zhen was regarded as an important coming of age, wherein a Kwejian boy becomes a man and joins the "pack". The ceremony took place at the World Root, during which the new amulet would be filled with sap from the Root mixed with a drop of blood from the boy, representing the unending bond between him and his family and homeworld.

In 3190, Cleveland Booker attended the Ikhu Zhen ceremony of his nephew Leto. Shortly after, Kwejian was destroyed by the Dark Matter Anomaly. In the aftermath, Booker decided to resume wearing his own Ikhu Zhen, which he had set aside some years earlier. (DIS: "Kobayashi Maru", "Choose to Live")
