Impulian candles
An Impulian candle was a type of candle. One was expected to think of an intention while lighting it, or else the wax would be considered wasted. The wax came in different colors and shades.
Making candles
In 2381, Castro and her friends made Impulian candles during their salon on the USS Cerritos. When the ship lost power due to a Karemma device, Beckett Mariner found that the lit candles were rapidly consuming the oxygen in the compartment at double the rate of regular candles. She tried to extinguish them but a panicked Castro stopped her, protesting about their intentions. Mariner and Jennifer Sh'reyan were only able to blow out the candles after Mariner stunned everyone else with a phaser. (LD: "Hear All, Trust Nothing")
Later that year, Sh'reyan gave Mariner her candle back when she believed Mariner had impugned the Cerritos crew to FNN reporter Victoria Nuzé. Hurt, Mariner told her she could give the candle to Castro for all she cared. (LD: "Trusted Sources")
