Interrogation room

The interrogation room

An interrogation room is a room generally used for interrogations. The USS Enterprise-D has two rooms that are known to have been used for interrogations.

In 2366, Romulan Alidar Jarok was interrogated by Commander William T. Riker and Counselor Deanna Troi in a room with a circular raised dais with a small side table on which all three sat in rolling chairs, Two columns rose from the edge of the dais diagonally to the ceiling. The walls on one side of the room featured illuminated patterned blue panels. (TNG: "The Defector")

One year later, the Klingon spy J'Dan and later Crewman Simon Tarses and even Captain Jean-Luc Picard were interrogated in a larger interrogation room. This second room featured a larger non-circular dais on which only the accused sat to be questioned. Interrogators would sit at either of two desks located in front of the dais. Behind the desks, several rows of chairs could be arranged for observers if a hearing was open to the public. The wall behind the accused illuminated patterned blue panels matching the first room. (TNG: "The Drumhead")

The interrogation room seen in TNG: "The Defector" is listed in the script as a "debriefing room". The interrogation room TNG: "The Drumhead" was a redress of the TOS movie bridge set that first served TNG as the battle bridge. The door seen opposite the corridor from interrogation room has a silver frame around it (including the bottom edge) which has previously served as the corridor connected to the brig set. The tables are similar to or the same as the tables in the courtroom from TNG: "The Measure Of A Man", which was a redress of the same set.
Several other episodes featured interrogation rooms, including "Chain Of Command, Part II" (Gul Madred's office on Celtris III), "The Search, Part II" (in a simulation of Deep Space 9), "Little Green Men" (a United States Air Force base), "Random Thoughts" (on the Mari homeworld), "In the Cards" (aboard Weyoun's ship), "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges" (somewhere on Romulus), and "Kir'Shara" (aboard Shran's ship).
