An invasion is an action undertaken by one government where its military entered the territory of another government for the purpose of controlling such territory or the people there.

The Hur'q invaded the Klingon homeworld of Qo'noS, destroying what they could not pillage. Among the most valuable artifacts stolen by the Hur'q was the Sword of Kahless, which was only recovered over a thousand years later, in 2372. (DS9: "The Sword of Kahless"; ENT: "Affliction")

According to Sub-commander T'Pol, Andorians believed Vulcans tend to mount an invasion of their homeworld. (ENT: "The Andorian Incident")

Captain Jonathan Archer suggested that an invasion by the Borg was postponed until the 24th century following the subspace message they sent into the Delta Quadrant in 2153. (ENT: "Regeneration")

In the 23rd century, the Code Factor 1 designation on a message indicated that it concerned an invasion of the United Federation of Planets. Commodore Barstow issued such a message in 2267. (TOS: "The Alternative Factor")

In 2366, the Borg launched an invasion of Earth. They assimilated Captain Picard into the collective and he became Locutus of Borg, forcing him to help them destroy the 39 starships sent to intercept the Borg, by using his knowledge about Starfleet at the Battle of Wolf 359. The crew of the USS Enterprise-D was able to use Locutus' connection to the Borg to defeat the invading Borg cube. (TNG: "The Best of Both Worlds", "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II")

After the Detapa Council, along with the Cardassian dissident movement, overthrew the Cardassian Central Command, Chancellor Gowron of the Klingon Empire launched an invasion of Cardassia, believing the coup to have been engineered by the Changelings. During the initial invasion, which was condemned by the Federation Council, the Council was evacuated from Cardassia Prime and given shelter aboard the Federation space station Deep Space 9. The First Battle of Deep Space 9 convinced Gowron to halt the Klingon advance into Cardassian territory, though the Klingon-Cardassian War continued as the Klingons refused to give up control of several Cardassian colonies which they had seized. (DS9: "The Way of the Warrior") The Klingons were eventually pushed out of Cardassian territory when the Cardassian Union joined the Dominion in 2373. (DS9: "By Inferno's Light")

After the Antwerp Conference bombing of 2372 and fluctuations of the Bajoran wormhole indicating a possible Dominion invasion, Admiral Leyton and Captain Sisko convinced the President of the United Federation of Planets Jaresh-Inyo to declare a state of emergency. The incident turned out to be staged by Leyton to attempt a coup d'état of the Federation. This was exposed by Sisko, forcing Leyton to resign his commission. (DS9: "Homefront", "Paradise Lost")

In 2373, the Borg again attempted to invade Earth in the Battle of Sector 001. A single Borg cube was engaged and eventually destroyed by Starfleet, with a Borg sphere traveling back to April 4, 2063 to prevent First Contact by assimilating a post-World War III Earth. They were defeated by the crew of the USS Enterprise-E. (Star Trek: First Contact)

During the Dominion War in 2374, Betazed was invaded by the Dominion from the Kalandra sector. The Federation Tenth Fleet had been assigned to defend Betazed and its outlying colonies, but was caught out of position on a training exercise. The obsolete and undermanned planetary defense system was overwhelmed, and the planet fell in under ten hours. With Betazed captured, other nearby worlds, including Vulcan, Tellar, Alpha Centauri, and Andor, were at risk of Dominion attack. (DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight")

Acting on the orders of Captain Sisko, Elim Garak fabricated evidence of a planned Dominion invasion of Romulus, leading to the Romulan Empire joining the Federation Alliance against the Dominion. (DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight")

The Federation Alliance launched an invasion of Cardassia which eventually ended when the Female Changeling ordered Dominion forces to ceasefire, with the Treaty of Bajor bringing a formal end to the Dominion War. (DS9: "Tears of the Prophets", "What You Leave Behind")

In 2379, Captain Picard anticipated that the Romulans would invade a crippled Federation following the use of a Thalaron generator, which the newly installed Praetor Shinzon intended to wipe out all life on Earth. Ultimately, however, the weapon was never used as Shinzon was defeated by Picard with the assistance of Romulan officers who opposed the Praetor. (Star Trek Nemesis)
