The excavation's name on an LCARS display

The Jacobson Excavation of the Vulcan Science Academy was an archaeological expedition which retrieved artifacts from the ruins dating to the Post-Ramirez Era and Sepulveda Period on the planet Tagus III. This excavation occurred prior to the sealing of the ruins by the Taguan government in the mid-23rd century. (TNG: "Qpid")

Information on this excavation's work on Tagus III is from an okudagram titled "Tagus III Archaeological Notes" which was perused by Captain Jean-Luc Picard in 2367.
It was named after assistant chief lighting technician Phil Jacobson.
