Jae M. was a child who lived on the Federation colony of Omicron Theta.
Jae drew a picture that depicted terrified people running away from the Crystalline Entity during its attack on the colony. Doctor Noonien Soong hung this artwork in his laboratory, along with three other drawings of the attack by John B., Josh, and Josh M.. (TNG: "Datalore")

Unlike the beam depicted in John B.'s painting and as seen in "Silicon Avatar", people are pulled from the planet's surface as if by a giant vacuum.
