James Groh is the actor who portrayed Mr. Taylor, who was seen on a photograph, in the Star Trek: Enterprise third season episode "The Forgotten". He received no credit for this appearance.

Groh also had featured parts in the television comedy The Hollywood Mom's Mystery (2004, with Anne Ramsay and Christine Anne Baur), the action comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005, with Jennifer Morrison, Greg Ellis, Megan Gallagher, Mark Newsom, Jeff Yagher, and Angela Bassett), the fantasy sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), the sequel National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007, with Bruce Greenwood, Alicia Coppola, Albert Hall, Larry Cedar, Jason Collins, and Daryl F. Mallett), the television award show The 79th Annual Academy Awards (2007, with Kirsten Dunst, Tom Hanks, John Knoll, Don LaFontaine, Eddie Murphy, and Leigh Taylor-Young), the crime drama The Lodger (2009, with Michael O'Hagan and Daphne Ashbrook), and in episodes of Boston Public, Judging Amy, That 70's Show, The Practice, Dharma & Greg, 'Til Death (with Guy Richardson), Jericho, 24, NYPD Blue, The Division, Bones (2006), Cavemen (2007), Knight Rider (2008, with Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Bruce Davison, Greg Ellis, and Susan Gibney), and Game Show in My Head (2009).

In 2007, Groh worked as stand-in on the crime drama Zodiac, along with John Carroll Lynch, David Lee Smith, Zach Grenier, John Mahon, Matt Winston, J. Patrick McCormack, Thomas Kopache, J.D. Cullum, Rod Damer, Anna Katarina, Cazimir Milostan, and Brett Rickaby. He also worked as stand-in on the television series The Loop (2006-2007) and Sons of Anarchy (2008-2014, starring Ron Perlman). Groh worked as photo double for Bruce Boxleitner on the television Western Aces 'N' Eights (2008, with Jeff Kober and Gregory J. Barnett).

In 2015, Groh worked as actor, editor, composer, executive producer, director of photography, writer, and supervising director on the short reality show 2 Old Goats on Hogs. In 2018, he worked as executive producer, cinematographer, writer, and director on the documentary The Big Ride 2017.
