James Van Over

James Van Over

James E. Van Over (born 28 January) was a scenic artist on I AM ERROR, I AM ERROR, and I AM ERROR. He also worked on Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection, and Star Trek Nemesis and received a "special thanks" credit in Star Trek Generations.

Several characters in Star Trek were named after him, including J. Van Over, James Van Over (Starfleet), and James Van Over (UESPA). Van Over himself wrote an article about creating the US Air Force Aircraft hangar for the episode "Little Green Men" in the Star Trek: The Magazine Volume 1, Issue 10 in 2000.

More recently, Van Over worked as graphic artist on the fan production Star Trek: New Voyages, episode "To Serve All My Days" (2006), which featured Walter Koenig, Mary Linda Rapelye, James Cawley, Jeffery Quinn, and Larry Nemecek.

Outside Trek, Van Over worked as scenic artist on Brannon Braga's short-lived science fiction series Threshold (2005-2006, starring Brent Spiner) and as graphic artist on the television thriller Beyond (2006), the Vanished pilot episode (2006), and the action series 24 (2006-2007).
