James Wellington is the actor who played Al in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine seventh season episode "Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang".

Wellington had a recurring role on the television drama Las Vegas, starring Star Trek: The Next Generation guest actress Nikki Cox. He also did two brief stints on the soap opera The Young and the Restless, first in 1998 and again in 2002.

In 1998, he guest-starred on an episode of the short-lived crime series Brooklyn South, starring James B. Sikking and Titus Welliver and also guest-starring Leland Orser and Tony Plana. Wellington has also guest-starred on such shows as NYPD Blue (with Gordon Clapp and Sharon Lawrence), 3rd Rock from the Sun (starring Diedrich Bader), Beverly Hills, 90210, Becker (starring Terry Farrell), JAG (in an episode with Corbin Bernsen and Gary Graham), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and CSI. He also appeared in two episodes of Charmed, one directed by Roxann Dawson and another directed by Jonathan West and guest-starring Elizabeth Dennehy and Bruce Gray. In 2014 he appeared in the film Red Sky with Christopher Michael and The Gambler with Leland Orser. Was married for 25 years to actress Jeri McBride who played a technician in Star Trek:The Motion Picture directed by Robert Wise. Jeri died on March 15, 2015.
