Austin has doubled for stars such as Nicole Kidman, the late Anna Nicole Smith, Ursula Karven, Uma Thurman, Geena Davis, Meryl Streep, Daryl Hannah, and Jennifer Beals. She has been married to fellow stuntman Kurt D. Lott.

In 2015, Austin was elected Secretary-Treasurer as well as Los Angeles Local President of SAG/AFTRA for the 2015-2017 period.
