The Janeway Protocol was a maneuver that could be employed by a Starfleet vessel. Its use would typically occur when a starship encountered a temporal rift that pulled the vessel towards it.
Ensign Sam Rutherford was unaware of this protocol, although it seemed to be common knowledge among other Starfleet officers such as Jack Ransom. Ransom suggested that Rutherford use it during a training simulation in 2380 when Rutherford was considering changing career paths. (LD: "Envoys")
This maneuver is presumably named for Kathryn Janeway.
