Jean Marie Novak (27 February 196122 October 2005; age 44) was a former actress and accountant who appeared in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. An operations division uniform with the name tag "Miss J. Novak" was sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay. [1]

Born in Landover Hills, Maryland, USA, she graduated from Elizabeth Seton Catholic High School in Bladensburg, Maryland. She later graduated from the University of Maryland and moved to California to pursue an acting career. Beside her work on Star Trek, Novak was featured in The Distinguished Gentleman (1992, with Victor Rivers, Noble Willingham, Daniel Benzali, Julianna McCarthy, and Dion Anderson) and Calendar Girl (1993, with Jerry O'Connell, Irene Roseen, Liz Vassey, and Curt Truman).

Novak moved to New York in 1998 and started a career in accounting. Between 2000 and 2005 she hosted and produced a monthly cable television show and volunteered an animal shelter.

Novak died on 22 October 2005 of massive head injuries after being struck by a New York City subway train, at the age of 44.
