Jeff Mart (1 March 194321 November 2009; age 66) was a camera and steadicam operator who worked as extra camera operator on the Star Trek: The Next Generation fifth season episode "The First Duty". Mart also worked on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager. [1]

Born as Andrew Jeffrey Mart in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, USA, Mart was the first person in the world to privately own a steadicam system.

In his thirty-one year career in the entertainment industry, Mart worked as a steadicam operator on projects such as Spartree (1978), One Dark Night (1983), The Supernaturals (1986, starring Nichelle Nichols and LeVar Burton), Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 (1987), Pumpkinhead (1988), Freeway (1988), Howling V: The Rebirth (1989), Tremors (1990), Sibling Rivalry (1990, starring Kirstie Alley), Child's Play 2 (1990), Eve of Destruction (1991), Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (1991), The People Under the Stairs (1991), American Me (1992), Wishman (1992), The Fear Inside (1992), Red Shoe Diaries (1993), Made in America (1993, starring Whoopi Goldberg), Iron Will (1994), There Goes My Baby (1994), Dolores Claiborne (1995, with Christopher Plummer), Dead Man (1995), Tremors II: Aftershock (1996), From the Earth to the Moon (1998), Inspector Gadget (1999), The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle (2000), Windtalkers (2002), episodes of House (2006), Desperate Housewives, and Dexter (2006), Hamlet 2 (2008), and the short drama The Trainer (2010).
