The Jein class was a type of Federation starship operated by Starfleet during the early 25th century.
At least one ship of this class, the USS Gregory Jein, participated in Frontier Day celebrations near Sol Station. Along with the rest of the fleet, this ship was seized by the Borg Collective after their younger crews were assimilated by a Borg signal transmitted via Jack Crusher. (PIC: "Võx")

Background information[]
The Jein-class was named in a tweet by Star Trek: Picard Production Designer Dave Blass on his Twitter account, who, also provided some information on its presumed lead vessel, the USS Gregory Jein. The ship class is 1,252.5 feet (381.6 meters) in length. [1]
Studio model[]
Designed by John Eaves, the names of both class and lead ship were intended homages to the late Gregory Jein, the famed studio model maker (not in the least renowned for the models he created for Berman-era Star Trek) who had been Eaves' personal friend and mentor at the start of the latter's career. As a jump-off point for the design, Eaves proceeded from his own USS Emmett Till (β) four-nacelled design variant, [2] which he had created earlier for an imagined eighth season of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as seen in the 2019 documentary What We Left Behind. The design of the Jein-class is very similar to the USS Ibn Majid, which was also a two-nacelled version of the USS Emmett Till. [3]
However, since the design is only seen as a vague deep background element, it is debatable on what detail level the resulting screen-used CGI model (if one was even made) has eventually been executed in.
The USS Jein will be featured as the 18th ship in the initial run of the 2024 reboot of Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection (2024), with a scheduled release of April 2026.
