Jerry Maren (24 January 192024 May 2018; age 98) was an actor who appeared as a copper-skinned alien delegate in the Star Trek: The Original Series second season episode "Journey to Babel". He filmed his scene on Monday 25 September 1967 at Desilu Stage 9.

Born as Gerald Marenghi in Boston, Massachusetts, he is best known for his role as a Munchkin member of the Lollipop Guild in the 1939 MGM film The Wizard of Oz (which also featured Shep Houghton and Maren's "Journey to Babel" castmate Billy Curtis). He also appeared in the sitcom Seinfeld. Maren once mentioned, in an interview, that the Munchkins were paid a mere $50.00 a week while shooting The Wizard of Oz, while the dog, Toto, was paid US$200.00 a week. Maren was the last surviving Munchkin.

In 2016, Maren was "well cared for by relatives in Southern California. He doesn't do appearances any more, but he's about as healthy as can be at 96." [1] Two years later, on 24 May 2018, Maren passed away at the age of 98. [2]
