Jo'Kala was a city located on Bajor.
An old Bajoran story spoke of three brothers who were kava farmers. One day, they found a giant kava root in their field and decided to sell it in Jo'Kala. They then argued over how to divide the proceeds, and ultimately decided to give the money away and return to the farm where they belonged. Kira Nerys told the story to an injured Benjamin Sisko in 2372 in order to keep him awake. (DS9: "Starship Down")
In an interesting twist, Sisko tells Kira the story in the novel Warpath after she was left injured and unconscious by a Jem'Hadar attack.
The Star Trek Encyclopedia, 3rd ed., p. 509 titles the story "The three brothers who went to Jo'Kala".
