Joel Pelletier (born 1961) is a musician, artist, and actor who appeared as a sciences division officer playing the double bass in the Star Trek: Voyager fifth season episode "Course: Oblivion". He filmed his scene on Friday 18 December 1998 on Paramount Stage 8 and had a set call 12:45 pm. He received no credit for this appearance but is listed as "Sideline Musician" on the call sheet.
Pelletier received his degree in music composition from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. In 1988 he moved to Los Angeles and performed in several original and cover bands including "The Who Show", "Journey Unauthorized", and "The Lush Pop Trio". As an artist, Pelletier created a modern day version of the painting "Christ's Entry Into Brussels in 1889", titled "American Fundamentalists: Christ’s Entry into Washington in 2008" in 2004 and the painting "Screaming with Orson" in 2013. Since 2012, Pelletier has also worked as actor, mostly featured in music videos for artists such as The Cheerleaders, Itch, Matt Jaffe and The Distractions, Alexander Kogan, Heaven & Earth, and Ludacris. Other projects include the short films Los Angeles Immigration, Verona, and Audition (2015), and episodes of Six Degrees of Everything and Unusual Suspects (2015).
Pelletier previously appeared in several projects as a sideline musician including the drama Man on the Moon (1999, with Vincent Schiavelli, Caroline Gibson, Gene LeBell, Tracey Walter, Kelly Sheerin, Jacqueline Case, Kelly Cooper, Christopher Lloyd, and Yoshi Jenkins), music specials of Meat Loaf on VH1 and Celine Dion on CBS, and episodes of Family Matters, INK, Fame L.A., Murphy Brown, and Columbo.
Among his more recent credits are episodes of Sex Sent Me to the ER (2014) and True Nightmares (2015). As "John Paul Joel ", Pelletier has also been a band member of several Led Zeppelin cover bands, most recently in "Zep Live". [3] [4]
