John Tamaki (20 September 19621 November 2015; age 53) was an actor who appeared in episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He appeared as one of the post-atomic trial spectators in the TNG seventh season episode "All Good Things..." and played one of the alien visitors in the DS9 second season episodes "Second Sight" and "Sanctuary". He received no credit for his appearances. For "All Good Things...", Tamaki filmed his scenes on Monday 4 April 1994 on Paramount Stage 16.

Tamaki signed with Central Casting in 1992 and had featured and guest roles in episodes of Picket Fences (1993, with Justin Shenkarow, Kelly Connell, Frank Salsedo, Michael Keenan, Ray Walston, Christina Bergstrom, Larry Humburger, June Jordan, Robert Lombardo, Lee Poppie, and Susan Rossitto), Martin (1993, with Christopher Darga), Hangin' with Mr. Cooper (1994, with Ron Canada and Richard Penn), The Hughleys (1999), Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! (2007, with Fred Tatasciore), Modern Family, The Middle, and Chuck (2010, with Bonita Friedericy, James Lew, and Mike Cassidy).

Film work includes the comedy Chow Bella (1998, with Clint Howard), the short comedy The Crib (2005), the parody Epic Movie (2007, with Dane Farwell, Michelle Lang, Paul Zies, Joe Gieb, and Scott L. Schwartz), and the comedy Robbin' in da Hood (2009, with John B. Moody).

He made his living by working as professional stand-in for child actors and his first project in this capacity was the action comedy Surf Ninjas (1993, with Jonathan Schmock, Brandon Karrer, Keone Young, and Nathan Jung).

Prior to his death, Tamaki worked as stand-in for Mace Coronel on the first two seasons of the comedy series Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn (2014-2015). [1]

Tamaki passed away due to sudden cardiac arrest on 1 November 2015 at the age of 53 in Los Angeles, California. [2] [3]
