John Young was an American astronaut in NASA's Apollo program. He was a crewmember, with Cernan and Stafford, on Apollo 10. As well, he was a crewmember, along with Duke and Mattingly, on Apollo 16.

In 2143, the assignment patches for these missions was on display in the 602 Club. The patches bore the astronaut's last name. (ENT: "First Flight")

Young also flew with Gus Grissom on the first manned flight of a Gemini capsule (also known as Molly Brown) and was the first person to fly a space shuttle orbiter in space on STS-1.
