Joint dislocation was an injury where the ends of two bones separated abnormally at a joint. The most common dislocation was that of a shoulder. An osteotractor frame could be used to treat this injury.(TNG: "Transfigurations")

Lieutenant Immamura suffered a dislocated shoulder as part of the second landing party which beamed down in search of the missing crewmembers on Taurus II. (TOS: "The Galileo Seven")

In 2373, B'Elanna Torres gave Ensign Vorik a dislocated jaw when he was suffering from the effects of pon farr. (VOY: "Blood Fever")

Miles O'Brien was known for frequently dislocating his shoulder while kayaking down the rapids in the holosuites. In 2366, his dislocation was healed by John Doe. (TNG: "Transfigurations")

In 2371, Odo mentioned that O'Brien told him the number was up to half a dozen. (DS9: "Heart of Stone")

In 2374, Doctor Julian Bashir treated O'Brien for a dislocated shoulder just prior to the time he was scheduled to leave for the Casperia Prime medical conference. Later, the absence of this injury and Bashir's subsequent tricking of "O'Brien" into agreeing that it had occurred playing springball were used by Bashir to prove that the events he was experiencing weren’t real.
