Joseph Campanella (21 November 192416 May 2018; age 93) played the Arbitrator in the Star Trek: Voyager seventh season episode "Author, Author".

More than three decades earlier, he was considered for the role of Kang in the Star Trek: The Original Series third season episode "Day of the Dove", however, that role went to Michael Ansara. (The Star Trek Interview Book [page number?edit]) He also played the voice of Dr. Curt Connors and his alter ego, the Lizard, in the 1990s animated Spider-Man series. He is perhaps best known for hosting Science International / What Will They Think Of Next?.

He voiced the character of Matthew Thorne on an episode of Batman: The Animated Series, playing the close friend of Dr. Leslie Thompkins (a recurring character voiced by Diana Muldaur).

He also guest starred in an episode of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993, starring Teri Hatcher, K Callan and Tracy Scoggins, featuring Jeff Austin).

Campanella died at his home in Sherman Oaks, California on 16 May 2018 at the age of 93. He was survived by his wife of 53 years, Jill, seven sons and eight grandchildren. [1]
