"Duty and joy go hand in hand. Duty is there so you can continue to pursue your happiness. And joy is there so you have something real to fight for."
– Gabrielle Burnham, 3189 ("Unification III")

Joy was a feeling of great pleasure and happiness.

In 2371, when Guinan was describing the Nexus that she experienced in 2293, she said it was like being "inside joy." (Star Trek Generations)

In 3189, upon entering the USS Discovery shuttlebay as the crew were enjoying the movie "Sherlock Jr.", Captain Saru sensed the room filled with this feeling. Doctor Hugh Culber identified the feeling. (DIS: "Forget Me Not")
