K'Nera was a male Klingon commander in the Klingon Defense Forces in the 24th century.
In 2364, he commanded a Klingon K't'inga-class battle cruiser sent to the Neutral Zone to find survivors from the cruiser IKS T'Acog, which had been sent to capture three rogue Klingons who had stolen a Talarian freighter.
When K'Nera arrived at the Neutral Zone, he found the USS Enterprise-D. Captain Jean-Luc Picard told K'Nera he had three Klingon survivors from a damaged Talarian freighter Batris. K'Nera told Picard that those men were criminals, and he demanded that they be handed over.
Lieutenant Worf argued that they should not be executed, but allowed to die with honor. K'Nera agreed, but told Worf he was under orders. However, the criminals were killed trying to escape from the brig on the Enterprise-D. K'Nera was impressed by Worf, and offered him a place on his ship when his tour on the Enterprise-D was over, but Worf politely refused. (TNG: "Heart of Glory")
