Kachina Dechert (born 12 June) is a stuntwoman and stunt actress who played a Terran prisoner in the Star Trek: Discovery first season episode "The Wolf Inside" and performed stunts in the second season episode "If Memory Serves". She received no credit for either appearance.
Dechert was born in London as the daughter of two rock musicians: Canadian keyboard player Greg Dechert and American percussionist Jody Linscott. She spent her early childhood in England, then, after her parents' separation, moved to Toronto, Canada with her mother and sister. Currently, she resides in Toronto and New York City. During her career, she has doubled for such stars as Uma Thurman, Jessica Biel, Anette Bening, and Mila Kunis.
She performed stunts in films such as The Amazing Spider-Man (2012, with Martin Sheen, Stan Lee, Barbara Eve Harris, Michael Papajohn and music by James Horner), Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014, starring Chris Pine, with David Paymer), Winter's Tale (2014, written and directed by Akiva Goldsman), John Wick (2014), Ted 2 (2015, with Michael Dorn, Bill Smitrovich, John Carroll Lynch, Ron Canada and Patrick Stewart, written and directed by Seth MacFarlane, stunt coordinated by Scott Rogers, and featuring stunts by Jessie Graff and Zachry Rogers), The Purge: Election Year (2016, with Terry Serpico and Ethan Phillips), Inferno (2016), Doctor Strange (2016, starring Benedict Cumberbatch), The Mummy (2017, starring Sofia Boutella, directed by Alex Kurtzman), Mission Impossible: Fallout (2018, with Simon Pegg), Men in Black: International (2019, starring Chris Hemsworth), and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019, again stunt coordinated by Scott Rogers, and featuring stunts by Natalie Diaz, Guy Fernandez, Jr., Akihiro Haga, Cort Rogers, Ella Rogers, Zachry Rogers and Peter Wallack).
Dechert's television credits include Broadwalk Empire (with Christopher McDonald), Unforgettable, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Blacklist (with Pasha Lychnikoff and David Gautreaux), Person of Interest, The Blacklist: Redemption (starring Famke Janssen and Terry O'Quinn), Taken, Gotham, Blindspot, and Mr. Robot (with Christian Slater).
