According to the script, Kal Dano's name was pronounced as "CAL DAY-no". 
According to the novel Watching the Clock, Kal Dano was a Shirna scientist who invented the Tox Uthat to destroy the Vorgon home system in the past, before the Vorgons developed the warp drive. The Vorgons intercepted him and he was killed evading pursuit.
According to the computer game Star Trek Online, the pilot of the Earth vessel found by the crew of Enterprise NX-01 in "Future Tense" is Kal Dano, who is voiced in the game by Jason Charles Miller. Kal Dano is revealed to have Human, Vulcan, and Lukari ancestry, and travels back in time to prevent the destruction of the Lukari homeworld by using the Tox Uthat to stabilize the Lukari sun. His travel pod was given to him by Daniels, a temporal agent, in order to ensure his proper place in history. Kal Dano later joins with the player to unsuccessfully prevent the Tholians from destabilizing the Na'kuhl sun, and became lost in time after his ship was damaged, resulting in his death and discovery by Enterprise.
