Karl Kessel (born 7 January 1959; age 65) is a comic book writer and artist specializing in inking working for DC and more recently, Marvel Comics. He began in the industry in the late 1970s, coming through DC's "new talent" program and becoming a full inking by the mid-1980s. He quickly became the regular inker on Tales of the Legion and Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld before moving onto Superman and Suicide Squad. Other prominent works included Hawk & Dove and the Adventures of Superman titles, and a series of covers on DC's Star Trek line.
In the mid-2000s, he moved to Marvel and worked on a variety of their titles.
