Katherine Trowell (born 17 July 1950; age 74) is an actress who played Captain Bandra in the Star Trek: Discovery third season episode "Scavengers" and the fourth season episode "Anomaly (DIS)". She is also a veteran voice actress and an animal care specialist.
Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, she ran away from home at 17, and went to Greenwich Village, New York. [1] She eventually settled in Canada, where she graduated in Theatre Master Class at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta. She has been working as an actress since 1975.
In 1995-96, she played the recurring role of Mayor Goldman in the series Kung Fu: The Legend Continues. Her other television guest roles include appearances on the US version of Queer as Folk, H2O, Warehouse 13 (with Saul Rubinek, James Marsters, and Kate Mulgrew), Lost Girl, Titans (co-developed by Akiva Goldsman), and The Umbrella Academy (with Raven Dauda). In the early-1990s, she appeared in four segments of Canada's Heritage Minutes and also narrated one episode.
Her films credits include minor and bit parts in movies like A Touch of Murder (1991), Habitat (1997, with Alice Krige, Kenneth Welsh, and Christopher Heyerdahl), The Passion of Ayn Rand (1999), Witchblade (2000, with Kenneth Welsh and Tig Fong), Interstate 60: Episodes on the Road (2002, with Christopher Lloyd, Jonathan Whittaker, and Daniel Kash), and The Time Traveler's Wife (2009, starring Eric Bana).
