Katrot was a female Betazoid who served as an operative for Betazed Intelligence in the late 24th century.
In 2381, Katrot and fellow agents Dolorex and Cathiw were assigned to telepathically gather intelligence about an unknown vessel that had destroyed several starships without provocation. Disguised as frivolous diplomats, they spent three weeks on Angel I before being transported to Risa aboard the USS Cerritos. In her assumed persona, Katrot was extremely enthusiastic about partying, though Dolorex and Cathiw harbored concerns that she might have had a genuine problem with alcohol.
En route, the Cerritos crew began succumbing to telepathic projections that caused them to become emotionally volatile. Zanthi fever was initially suspected, but Doctor T'Ana found no evidence of it. Nevertheless, Captain Carol Freeman was convinced that the Betazoids were responsible and ordered them confined to quarters. Believing that their cover had been blown, Katrot and the others commandeered the Cerritos and attempted to take it on a direct course to Betazed through the Romulan Neutral Zone.
Just before the Cerritos violated the Neutral Zone, Katrot, Dolorex, and Cathiw were subdued by the ship's security officers. The source of the telepathic projections had meanwhile been found to be Lieutenant jg T'Lyn, and they ceased once she addressed her turmoil regarding her punitive transfer from the VCF Sh'vhal. The Cerritos then proceeded to Risa without incident; before they departed, Dolorex gave Freeman an image of the unknown vessel that the Betazoids had acquired. (LD: "Empathological Fallacies")
