Kaye Wade (1 September 193524 August 2024; age 88) was an actress, musician, and stuntwoman who appeared as a Hotel Royale staffer in the Star Trek: The Next Generation second season episode "The Royale". Wade was the longtime companion of fellow actor and stuntman Chuck Hicks until his death in 2021. The two married on 27 December 2014.

Career[]

Wade may be best remembered for her role as Mrs. Exposition in the Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997) which also featured Charles Napier, Clint Howard, Brian George, Robin Gammell, Ben Scott, John-Clay Scott, Christian Slater, Patricia Tallman, Jay Caputo, Anita Hart, Edward Conna, Gary Guercio, Kim Robert Koscki, and Brian J. Williams. She also had featured stunt parts in episodes of Ally McBeal (1998, with Lawrence Pressman, John Thaddeus, David Doty, Carrie Stauber, and Eric Mansker), CSI: Miami (2002), Desperate Housewives (2004, with Teri Hatcher, Steven Culp, Mark Moses, Brenda Strong, and Edward Zoellner), and 24 (2006, with Gregory Itzin, Roger Cross, Jude Ciccolella, Mark A. Sheppard, and Chuck Hicks). As a background actress she appeared in various television series and features such as Hart to Hart, Starsky & Hutch, The Fall Guy, Vegas, B.J. and the Bear, and Flying High (1978).

As a stuntwoman, Wade has doubled Betty White on The Golden Palace, Mary Martin and Rosemary Clooney on Hardcastle and McCormick Brooke Adams in The Lion of Africa (1987), Gail O'Grady in the In the Heat of the Night episode "Road Kill" (1988, with Carl Ciarfalio), Margery Jane Ross in The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear (1991), Kathleen Freeman in Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994), Marion Ross in the Sweet Justice episode "It's a Grand Old Dame" (1994, with Ronny Cox and Terrence Beasor), Priscilla Alden in Nine Months (1995, coordinated by Glenn R. Personal Life[]

Born in Cozad, Nebraska, Wade worked in the entertainment industry from 1953 until 2013. Outside of acting, Wade was also a musician. She had a band called Kaye Wade's Riverboat Ramblers. Their music ranged from jazz and dixieland to swing, among other genres. Wade released an album titled Ramblin' at Hemsly House. She was also a practicing reflexologist and a charity golfer and bowler. She enjoyed many of these activities with her partner and fellow stunt performer, Chuck Hicks. For a time she managed a website dedicated to chronicling their exploits apart and together; though the site is now defunct, an archive of it exists.

Following the loss of her husband in 2021, Wade suffered from memory loss and was taken care in a facility in Las Vegas. She passed away in August of 2024.
