Kazon territory was a large region of space located in the Delta Quadrant that was controlled by various sects of the Kazon Collective.

It took USS Voyager nearly two years to traverse the region following their arrival there in 2371. Following their arrival near the planet Ocampa, Neelix explained to Captain Kathryn Janeway that "Kazon sects control this part of the quadrant. Some have food, some have ore, some have water. They all trade and they all kill each other for it." (VOY: "Caretaker", "Basics, Part II")

Much of this space was acquired through the overthrow of the Trabe and the capture of the Trabe homeworld in 2346. When Captain Janeway and Trabe Governor Mabus considered an alliance, Janeway thought that "[w]e could travel together for as long as it's advantageous to both of us. Maybe we'll find our way out of Kazon territory and you could settle on a new homeworld." (VOY: "Alliances")

Nistrim space[]

Nistrim defense net

The Kazon-Nistrim had a defense net surrounding Nistrim space, as well as their sphere of influence.

Neelix was quite familiar with Nistrim space, so when he questioned Teirna's "circuitous route" he proposed for USS Voyager to take around the Tenarus Cluster – a six day journey at warp 2 – by offering the option of traversing the cluster itself – a four day journey – to get to Gema IV, Teirna pointed out that "[they] would encounter the Nistrim fleet before a single day passed," adding, "[a]nyone who knows this part of space will tell you the same thing." Neelix then confessed that "[i]t so happens that I do know this part of space, my Kazon friend. I just wanted to see if you would tell us the truth. The route he suggests is safer, Captain."

Teirna additionally stated that, despite avoiding Nistrim space, they were still "heading into an area of space populated by Kazon factions that are loyal to no one. They will attack without provocation." (VOY: "Basics, Part I")

Ogla space[]

Upon discovering Chakotay's shuttlecraft in 2372, the Ogla Razik opined to Haliz that "[w]e should teach them the price of displaying their markings in our space." The young Ogla Kar was later sent to dispatch the intruder, who when asked why he was firing on the shuttle, explained "[y]ou are in Kazon-Ogla space, Federation." When Chakotay apologized for his mistake and offered to leave, Kar clarified, "[n]o one who violates Ogla space leaves." Later, after Chakotay defeated Kar's spacecraft and returned him to Razik's raider, Kar compared the arrival of the USS Voyager to that of the previous encroachments made on their space by the Nistrim and the Relora, where they arrived, "showing off your uniforms and displaying the markings of your Federation with no respect, as if you own this part of space. But it belongs to us!" Chakotay offered the explanation to Razik that, "[w]e're not familiar with this part of space. If I'd seen a map identifying this as Kazon-Ogla territory, I wouldn't have been anywhere near it." Razik responded simply, that "[u]nfortunately, our territorial claims change every day. Maps do not serve us well." Kar later explained that the reason he kept threatening to kill Chakotay was that "I must protect my territory. Territory is power." Though essentially meaningless to Kar, Chakotay assured him that "I have no interest in your territory or anybody else's."

Later, when Voyager arrived in orbit of Tarok in order to locate Chatokay's shuttle, they encountered Razik's raider, whereupon he warned them that they were trespassing in Ogla space and suggested that they depart immediately. Neelix found the offer unusual, "[a] Kazon-Ogla Maje allowing a trespasser to leave his space unharmed. What would the other Kazons say about this new merciful attitude of the Ogla?" Though Razik threatened to open fire, Neelix called his bluff, stating, "No, I don't think so. That would attract every rival Kazon sect to your secret training base, wouldn't it?" When Razik then threatened to destroy all of the weapons cached on the moon's surface, Neelix again called his bluff, stating "Think of the cost of replacing all those weapons. Awfully hard to come by in this region." (VOY: "Initiations")
