Kelvin Tsao (born 21 November 1953; age 70) is an actor and voice performer who appeared as a Maquis member in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine third season episode "Defiant".

He was identified by the call sheets of the episode and filmed his scenes on Friday 7 October 1994 and Monday 10 October 1994 at Paramount Stage 18. The call sheets misspelled him as "Kevin Tsao".

Tsao studied acting and went through Hollywood between 1976 and 1981. He then attended the UC Davis until 1984 and graduated with a BA in Dramatic Arts and Psychology. [1] Tsao sang with the Davis High School Madrigal Choir during the 1970/1971 season and with the UC Davis Chamber Choir between 1974 and 1976 and 1981 and 1984. He also performed in stage plays such as "Man of La Mancha", "Annie Get Your Gun", "Tribes", and "The Canton Jazz Club". In the late 1980s, Tsao worked as production assistant, runner, and video editor for Harmony Pictures. [2]

His first professional occupation as voice performer was the documentary The Holy Shroud of Turin, narrated by Richard Burton. He then voiced, produced and narrated a slide/tape program for American River College in Sacramento as part of their Vocational Education Program. Further voice work includes an American Electric Power commercial, an informational video for the State Parks, and the action film Enter the Blood Ring (1995, with T.J. Storm).

Acting work includes the action drama Taxi Dancers (1993, with Robert Axelrod and Robert Miano), the horror film Project Vampire (1993, with Bob Rudd, Kim Robert Koscki, and Conrad Hurtt), and the action thriller L.A. Task Force (1994).

Since 2001, Tsao has been working as classical music host at Capital Public Radio.
