Mirror universe
(coexisting on another dimensional plane)

For the prime universe counterpart, please see Keyla Detmer.

Keyla Detmer was a female Terran Imperial Starfleet officer in the mid-23rd century. She served aboard the ISS Shenzhou as a first officer in the 2250s. She bore medals on her uniform identifying her as a member of the bridge crew and as first officer. Detmer was on the bridge when her former captain Michael Burnham seemingly returned from the dead to resume her command. When Burnham entered the bridge with Danby Connor's corpse, Detmer seemed pleased, joining in the bridge crew's ovation for Burnham. (DIS: "Despite Yourself")

One of her duties on the Shenzhou was pronouncing death sentences for individuals prior to their being beamed out into open space, where they froze to death while being suffocated. A few days after Burnham's return, the Shenzhou received orders to proceed to Harlak and destroy the rebel base there. Detmer ordered the photon torpedos prepared, but Burnham angrily overruled her. Although Detmer was not pleased to hear of Burnham's alternative plan (infiltrating the rebel camp to gather intelligence), she supported her captain and did not rebel. After Burnham's slave Saru foiled Ash Tyler's attempt on Burnham's life, Detmer gently but firmly reminded Burnham that execution was the only punishment for a (failed) attempt on an Imperial captain's life. She was later present on the bridge when the ISS Charon arrived and obliterated Harlak, bowing before Emperor Philippa Georgiou's hologram moments later. (DIS: "The Wolf Inside")
