Kim Kold (born 25 August 1965; age 59) is an actor who appeared as Zavanko in Star Trek Beyond.
A former soccer goalkeeper, Kold suffered from a serious injury in 1993. During his rehabilitation training at the gym he took interest in bodybuilding and started to pursue this professionally. Since 1997 he competed in several championships and in 2006 he won the Danish National Bodybuilding Championship. During this time he was also working as locksmith. Today, Kold has his own security business in Puerto Banus, Spain.
In 2007, Kold played the title role in the short drama Dennis, edited, cinematography, written, and directed by a friend of Kold, Mads Matthiesen. Kold earned a Honorable Mention at the Toronto Worldwide Short Film Festival for this performance and reprised this role for the 2012 "sequel" Teddy Bear, also by his friend Matthiesen. Kold received the Best Performance Award in the category Best Actor at the Transilvania International Film Festival for this role in 2012.
Between these two projects, Kold appeared in the Danish comedy Blå mænd (2008), the thriller Deliver Us from Evil (2009), and an episode of Kommissarin Lund (2009).
Prior to his appearance in Beyond, Kold had a supporting role as Klaus in Justin Lin's Fast & Furious 6 (2013) on which he worked with Dwayne Johnson, Joe Taslim, Shea Whigham, Baron Jay and stunt performers Steve Kelso, Henry Kingi, Sr., Denney Pierce, Spiro Razatos, Tanoai Reed, Eric Chambers, Martin De Boer, John Escobar, and Andy Gill.
Further acting work includes the short film Polish Legends: The Dragon (2015), the fantasy film Antboy 3 (2016), the Danish crime thriller Small Town Killers (2017), and the sport thriller Anabolic Life (2017, with Sharon Lawrence).
More recent projects include the drama Requiem for a Fighter (2018), the adventure The Mysterious Death of Lord Harrington (2018), the drama Original Gangster (2018), and the short drama Never Too Big (2018).
