"Kirk's old bar" was the designation given by Beckett Mariner to a bar located on Starbase 25. It served "free shots", "beers", and "food", with a full menu posted outside the door. Among its beverage selection was a prune juice spritz. During the 2380s, the food stand, known as "Mr. Krada Leg", was located in front of the bar.
The walls of the bar were covered in framed photographs, including of a number of 23rd and 24th century individuals, ships and places.
The bar, which was previously visited by James T. Kirk and Spock in "2260-something" after their failed attempt to join the afterparty for the Command Conference held aboard the starbase. The barkeeper there, who had worked there for over a century, had watched generations of officers sit at her bar after failed attempts to gain access to the same afterparty, year after year.
In 2381, Mariner visited the bar after she was ditched by Brad Boimler, who was able to gain access to the Command Conference afterparty. They were later joined by a number of the USS Cerritos' command crew and other lower deckers. (LD: "An Embarrassment Of Dooplers")
"Kirk's old bar" was inspired by The Old Town Ale House in Mike McMahan's hometown of Chicago. [1] (LD Season 2 DVD, "Lower Decktionary: Season 2")
