"Kitara's Song" was a 22nd century poem written by the Bajoran poet Akorem Laan.
In 2372, Major Kira Nerys recalled this piece as one of Akorem's works. (DS9: "Accession")
According to the script, Kitara was pronounced as "kih-TAR-uh". [1]
The Star Trek Customizable Card Game named an interceptor after this song.
