The Klingon cleave ship was a type of Klingon warship in service during the 23rd century. Massive in size, it mounted a large vertical blade on its bow that enabled it to ram and destroy opposing starships.
Klingon cleave ship ramming the USS Europa
During the Battle of the Binary Stars in 2256, T'Kuvma ordered a cloaked cleave ship to ram the USS Europa as a demonstration of the invisibility technology. The Europa proceeded to self-destruct, destroying both ships. (DIS: "Battle at the Binary Stars")
In a non-canon depiction of the event appearing in VST: "Holiday Party", the Europa was destroyed following the collision and the cleave ship remained intact.
In 2257, High Chancellor L'Rell commanded a cleave ship that reinforced USS Discovery and USS Enterprise in their battle against Control. The vessel rammed and destroyed two Section 31 ships as it decloaked. (DIS: "Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2")
Star Trek Online refers to this ship as a Na'Qjej-class battle cruiser. [1]
