Klingon tricorder

Kruge scans using a Klingon tricorder in 2285

The Klingon tricorder was a model of tricorder used by the Klingons.

In 2285, Kruge's crew used tricorders during their attempt to learn the secrets of the Genesis Planet. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)

Nu'Daq brought a tricorder with him aboard the USS Enterprise in 2369 while following Professor Galen's research on the ancient humanoids. (TNG: "The Chase")

The Klingon tricorder was designed by Industrial Light and Magic for Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. (The Art of Star Trek, pg. 218) The design was modified by Richard Coyle for later appearances. [1]
A hero version of the Klingon tricorder was auctioned as part of the It's A Wrap! sale and auction. [2]
Tricorders used by the members of the Shakaar resistance cell in DS9: "Shakaar" were re-uses of the Klingon tricorder prop, though the script only identifies them as "a motley batch of tricorders." [3]
