Kristine Kathryn Rusch (born 4 June 1960; age 64) is a writer of many Star Trek novels. She frequently collaborates with her husband Dean Wesley Smith.
She wrote the "First Steps" story of The Lives of Dax anthology (based on a concept by Jill Sherwin), that focused on Lela Dax.
Rusch won a Hugo award for a non-Trek novella and has also gained several other awards. She also writes under the pen names Kristine Grayson and Kathryn Wesley.
