Lance Parkin (born 3 September 1971; age 53) is an author who co-wrote the unauthorized reference book Beyond the Final Frontier with Mark Jones, and a biography of Gene Roddenberry titled The Impossible Has Happened: The Life and Work of Gene Roddenberry, Creator of Star Trek. He is more well-known for being the author of several original novels in the Doctor Who franchise, including the critically-acclaimed 1997 novel The Dying Days.

Parkin was also briefly a member of the production team for the British soap opera Emmerdale Farm in 1999, about which he later wrote a non-fiction book and two novels based on the series. In 2003, he had a comic book miniseries based on one of his characters from the Doctor Who franchise for six issues.

He currently freelances for UK magazines, and is a column writer for a Doctor Who fanzine.
